It's not been a good year for butterflies in our area, however I did spot this Monarch on one of our Butterfly Bushes yesterday. I've also seen a Tiger Swallowtail, a Red Admiral, and a number of Cabbage Whites around, along with some Silver-spotted Skippers.Damselflies in Tandem
These two mating damselflies were photographed along the wetlands trail at Fort Frederick State Park in Washington County, Maryland. I wasn't able to determine their species, but thought it made a pretty photo. Char and I walked the trail there last Thursday afternoon.
